Techniplas, a Nashotah, WI–based supplier of engineered plastics systems and components for the automotive, medical, and other sectors, has successfully completed its acquisition of the major business elements of the Nanogate Group. Headquartered in Germany with locations worldwide, Nanogate produces multi-functional components and surfaces primarily for the automotive and industrial sectors.

Nanogate has an extensive technology and intellectual property portfolio that enables it to offer unique finishing solutions, such as radar transparency, translucency, and anti-corrosion, scratch-proof, and non-stick functional properties, said the announcement.

With the Nanogate acquisition, Techniplas will now have manufacturing operations in Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Netherlands, Austria, Spain, the United States, Mexico, China, Brazil, and South Africa. Engineering centers are located in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, India, and China.

“The acquisition of the core business of Nanogate Group is a highly strategic and transformative transaction for Techniplas,” commented Techniplas CEO Ali El-Haj. “The addition of Nanogate’s unique and proprietary finishing capabilities strategically complements Techniplas’ core expertise in injection molding to create one of few companies of scale with a full suite of molding and finishing capabilities.”

The combined businesses will have an annual turnover surpassing $700 million, 25 locations, and more than 3500 employees worldwide, added El-Haj. The integration of “electronic, finishing capabilities and know-how as well as the increased international presence of the Techniplas Group will further accelerate growth opportunities in the automotive, industrial, and consumer markets,” he said.
