While auto shows' importance has declined in a digital, post-Covid world, the Big Apple is still able to put on a proper show. That's the attraction for those carmakers who still bring their wares to the Jacob Javits Center to be revealed to the world's media at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS).
Since the first New York Auto Show opened in November 1900 at the original Madison Square Garden, the annual exhibition of automobiles, and the pageantry they create, has been a hallmark of the industry.
At that time, the United States had only 76 million people, 18 million horses, and eight thousand cars.
This year's show includes a dedicated multi-brand Electric Vehicle Test Track, an Automotive Aftermarket Experience, and a personal Micro Mobility Expo to showcase the latest in electric 'last mile' transportation.
Additionally, the NYIAS is the traditional venue for the announcement of this year's World Car of the Year winners. Click through the photo gallery to have a look.
