Battenfeld breaks into Romania

Pronouncing it the “the country with the greatest growth potential of all of the new EU states,” Werner Wittmann, founder and chairman of the robots and auxiliary equipment manufacturer that bears his name, announced the expansion of press manufacturer Wittmann Battenfeld (Kottingbrunn, Austria) into Romania. Wittmann (Vienna, Austria) acquired Battenfeld in early 2008.

Wittmann Battenfeld has established a sales and service subsidiary, Wittmann Battenfeld Srl, in Bucharest. The new subsidiary’s 32-year-old general manager, Bogdan Nestor, previously had worked for the Romanian sales and service distributor D&D Plastics as director of its sales and marketing; that firm’s customers included plastics machinery manufacturers Negri Bossi, Eurochiller and Dipr.  [email protected]
