Biopolymers company MHG looks back on highly successful NPE2015

MHG, the Biopolymer Company (Bainbridge, GA), reports that it received an “astounding level of positive response” during NPE 2015 in Orlando, FL. At the event, MHG showcased a new generation of patented biopolymers, as well as other services the company offers to business partners, including research, development and toll manufacturing for biobased materials. In conjunction with the event, MHG launched a new website, which provides information about all the services and products offered by the biopolymer company.

“We received a great deal of interest from visitors all over the world last week,” said Dr. Paul Pereira, CEO and Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. “We believe bioplastics are the future, and we can provide the solution for a healthier planet.”

MHG, full name Meredian Holdings Group Inc., is the holding company of Meredian Inc., a producer of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) and DaniMer Scientific LLC, a specialist in the customization of biopolymer formulations. After Meredian Inc. and DaniMer Scientific merged in June 2014, the company began its transition into MHG.

The biopolymers produced by the company have the potential to replace a significant portion of products and packaging made with petro-plastics. MGH sources non-GMO seeds from canola, and cold presses the seeds to extract oil for use in PHA bioplastic, creating a sustainable and renewable replacement for petroleum in most plastic applications, without interfering with food crop production. The plants are grown locally and, thus, serve as the feedstock to produce MHG’s Nodax PHA at the Bainbridge facility. MHG’s PHA bioplastics decompose rapidly and fully in soil, compost or water without leaving any toxic trace. In addition, the biopolymers are FDA approved for food-substance contact.
