Mann+Hummel sells Una-Dyn to Piovan

Focusing on its core automotive business in the Americas, Mann+Hummel (www.mann-hummel.com) has sold its U.S. subsidiary Universal Dynamics Inc. (Woodbridge, VA; www.unadyn.com) to Italian auxiliary equipment manufacturer Piovan (Santa Maria di Sala; www.piovan.com). The sale occurred on Sept. 28; closing is expected to take place on Oct. 10.

“Our objective is to become one of the top three suppliers of filters in North and South America,” said Dieter Seipler, CEO of the Mann+Hummel Group, in a press release. “We have thus specifically extended our automotive activities in this region since 1997.” M+H acquired Una-Dyn in 1995.

Una-Dyn, whose 120 employees supply material handling systems, had sales of about $27.1 million in 2007, and offers Piovan expansion into the U.S market.
