ExxonMobil Chemical plans for specialty compounds expansion in Asia-Pacific

ExxonMobil Chemical (Houston, TX; www.exxonmobilchemical.com) plans to form an agreement with Resin & Pigment Technologies Pte. Ltd. (R&P, Singapore) to increase its supply of specialty compounds to the Asia-Pacific region. R&P, a subsidiary of EnGro Corp. Ltd. (Singapore; www.engro-global.com), will manufacture the compounds for automotive interior and exterior, appliance, and consumer product applications.

R&P’s facility is 2 km from ExxonMobil’s Singapore petrochemical complex and will be the company’s main source of polyolefins for production of its specialty compounds, such as Exxtral.

“Because this simplifies the supply chain, we can respond more quickly to changes in demand," says Jim McKinley, manager, ExxonMobil Chemical specialty compounds business. “Our aim is to provide more efficient, larger-scale production close to the source of integrated feedstock supply. By offering a wider range of high-performance materials from the region’s Singapore hub, our Asia-Pacific customers will benefit from more efficient service and supply.”
