Insight Polymers & Compounding has expanded capabilities to accelerate collaborative development programs with the installation of a new 18-mm extrusion line. It will showcase the additional performance and sustainability benefits of the new line, as well as its range of extrusion and compounding capabilities, in booth A110 at Compounding World Expo North America on Nov. 15 and 16 in Cleveland, OH.

The Leistritz twin-screw extrusion line continues the expansion of Insight Polymers’ capabilities that began with the 40-mm line brought online earlier this year. “The new line has capabilities that enable us to work with sustainable and biomass-derived fibers, fillers, and composites,” said A.J. Pasquale, director of operations. Insight Polymers said that bio-sourced fillers, polymers, reinforcements, and recycled plastics make up a significant percentage of its development programs.

The new line is expected to be operational by the end of this year.

Founded and managed by PhD-level materials scientists Pasquale and Jeremy Lizotte, Insight Polymers & Compounding is a polymer processing and custom compounding operation in northeast Tennessee focused on fully formulated systems, product development services, and proprietary masterbatches. Their expertise and the support of senior staff goes beyond engineering to a full understanding of the chemistry involved in polymeric materials, processing, testing, and evaluation.
