Handheld ID readers

Two new models of handheld ID readers make up the DataMan 700 Series, which rounds out the industrial code reading units available from Cognex (Natick, MA). The DataMan 750 model is ESD-safe, which is said to make it ideal for reading 1D and 2D codes in the electronics and medical device industries. This reader utilizes IDMax decoding software to handle code degradations that result from differences in material types and surfaces. The other model in the 700 Series, the DataMan 710, uses IDQuick decoding software to read high-quality 1D and 2D codes and low-contrast codes on uniform backgrounds. The DataMan user interface shared by all DataMan models is said to be intuitive and optimized for quick setup. The design of the readers is ergonomic, compact, and rugged for long-term reliability in industrial environments. ?KD
