Industry stalwart Carl Steinwall passes away

(Coon Rapids, MN), passed away on Tuesday Oct. 6, surrounded by family and friends, and with his wife, Sharon, at his side. Carl founded his company in 1965 and retired in 1987, upon which his daughter Maureen Steinwall took over the helm of the molder, which specializes in tight-tolerance, high-cosmetic parts. (“Plastics: It’s a man’s world” gives a first-person account of how this transfer occurred.)

Carl was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Minnesota in the 1940s. He was a past master of the Tusler Masonic Lodge, Roseville, MN, and a long-time member of the 49ers Breakfast Club of Saint Paul. He was a recreational sailor and golfer, played the harmonica, loved a good joke, and could fix just about anything.

A memorial service will be held at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 W. Roselawn Ave., Roseville, MN at 11:00 a.m. on October 17, 2009. Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society, North Memorial Residential Hospice, or to the charity of choice.—[email protected]
