Frost & Sullivan names TactoTek winner of 2017 Global Technology Innovation Award

TactoTek (Oulu, Finland), a provider of solutions for injection molded structural electronics (IMSE) that integrate printed circuitry and electronic components into injection molded plastic products, was awarded the Frost & Sullivan 2017 Best Practices Award for injection molded structural electronics technology innovation.

“To achieve excellence in technology innovation is never an easy task, and it is made even more difficult considering today’s competitive intensity,” said David Frigstad, Chairman of Frost & Sullivan. “We identify companies, such as TactoTek, that excel in innovation, enabling them to serve their customers more effectively and grow faster than the industry average.”

TactoTek designs and produces parts that integrate printed electronics and discrete electronic components into injection molded structures to create smart molded structures. A single IMSE part often replaces multi-part assemblies that include separate cosmetic surfaces and electronic components.

“Frost & Sullivan has identified significant market trends that align with IMSE solutions,” noted Jussi Harvela, TactoTek CEO. “We appreciate being recognized for our innovation, market position and business execution, and are working with many global customers to help them realize their objectives with IMSE solutions.”

Frost & Sullivan evaluates several aspects of company performance to assess technology innovation and the value of that innovation in the marketplace, and the ability of the company to deliver its solution at mass scale. Some of these criteria include industry impact, diversity of markets and use cases, mass production scalability, visionary innovation and customer acquisition.

“TactoTek rated highly across the spectrum of our evaluation criteria,” said Ranjana Lakshimi Venkatesh Kumar, Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst. “The TactoTek IMSE value proposition spans diverse markets including automotive, appliances, IoT and wearable technology, and enables OEMs to differentiate their products in the marketplace. Frost & Sullivan is very optimistic about the market for IMSE solutions and TactoTek’s growth potential.”

TactoTek adapts customer designs to IMSE technology, develops mass-production-ready prototypes, and mass produces or licenses the technology for third-party production.
