George W. Blank, the company's CEO and group president, said that it seems natural to bring on a full range of tool-building capabilities in Costa Rica to service MedTech Group's customers there, adding that this is in line with the company's goal of enhancing value and speed-to-market for all its customers worldwide. He said, "We have had a very positive experience thus far in Costa Rica, and have found the skill level, dedication, and craftsmanship of our employees to be exceptional."

MedTech began operating in Costa Rica in 2004, and in 2009 opened a second facility there to manufacture complete medical devices. The company's facilities now total 60,000 ft2, enabling MedTech to provide low-cost cleanroom molding, assembly, and packaging services to the medical device industry. Its full range of services also includes product design & development by its TDC Medical organization (acquired and expanded in 2009), tooling design and fabrication, process design and validation, insert and two-shot cleanroom molding, complete device assembly, packaging, and sterility validation.

Besides its headquarters facility in New Jersey and the expanding location in Costa Rica, MedTech Group has operations in Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and Singapore. The company was founded in 1979 to design and manufacture preceision molded parts and complete devices for the healthcare industry. —[email protected]
