LS Mtron Injection Molding Machines USA has formed a new entity and named a new President. Effective immediately, the company name is now LS IMM USA LLC. Peter Gardner, formerly the company’s Business Unit Director, has been promoted to President.

Until now, the company had been legally operating in the United States as a division of LS Tractor USA LLC. The change was made because of its continued growth in North America, said LS IMM USA. “We have grown to the point where we needed to separate our business activities from LS Tractor USA and become our own entity,” said Gardner.

LS Mtron purchased the plastics machinery division of its US distributor, Daiichi Jitsugyo America Inc. (DJA), in 2021. DJA had been selling LS Mtron molding machines in the United States since 2018. The acquisition included DJA’s technical service and training facility in Wood Dale, IL, and its employees. One of them was Gardner, who was DJA’s Vice President of Sales and General Manager at the time.

In 2022, LS Mtron added three new locations for parts and service in North America and hired key personnel with significant industry experience. In 2023, LS IMM USA said it will continue to expand its service capabilities and manpower and will adopt a Customer Experience (CX) Lifecycle model to address the needs of its customers at each stage of the molding machine’s life.

LS IMM was founded by South Korea’s LG Corp. Its US headquarters is in Duluth, GA, and it operates a tech center in Wood Dale, IL; a machine testing and tech center in Brownsville, TX; and a parts and service facility in San Diego.

“We are thankful to all of our customers for contributing to our growth and success in the USA and North America,” said Gardner in a prepared statement. “From efficient installation and training to value-added services, preventive maintenance, and expanded parts availability for the life of the machine, we aim to be the best injection molding machinery supplier in North America.”
