more active in online social networks than Lorest Molding. The company is active on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. It's HQ is in Kansas, where it works closely with a product design firm, but its moldmaking and molding partners are in China.

In a recent post on Facebook, the company offered some info to inventors and entrepreneurs on how to introduce a new product to market without breaking the bank. As the company posted, "When people think of manufacturing in China, they usually think it's only a few individuals or large corporations getting rich.  That may have been the case 20 years ago but today start up entrepreneurs can put their hat in the 'China manufacturing ring' at a very low cost."

How low? The company offers this guide for the costs of getting a good kitchen gadget prototype:

Product Design:                                $2,000

Mechanical Engineering:                   $3,000

Prototype Build:                                 $700

The company explains, "The above example would include the majority of design work being done in the U.S. and the majority of the engineering work in China."

The full post on Facebook will interest processors, moldmakers and inventors.
