K 2013: Bio-based masterbatch greens up compounds

A new masterbatch line has specifically been developed with environmental sustainability in mind. Colloids (Hall 8A, stand D01) is extending its already comprehensive range of masterbatch products with, Sustain, as the new line is aptly called. The biobased (typically corn starch or cane sugar) product is available in either universal or polymer-specific (polyamide, polyethylene and polyesters including PLA) masterbatches.

A new masterbatch line has specifically been developed with environmental sustainability in mind. Colloids (Hall 8A, stand D01) is extending its already comprehensive range of masterbatch products with, Sustain, as the new line is aptly called. The biobased (typically corn starch or cane sugar) product is available in either universal or polymer-specific (polyamide, polyethylene and polyesters including PLA) masterbatches. The Sustain range is fully recyclable and, unlike many biodegradable polymers, will not impact on the quality if mixed with fossil derived polymers of the same type, according to Colloids.
