Specialty chemicals supplier The HallStar Company (Chicago, IL) has acquired the Dioplex polymeric plasticizers and the Rezilube additives product lines from Dow Hyperlast, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Co. Dioplex plasticizers are high molecular weight, long-chain polyesters used in applications including food wrap, self-adhesive and electrical tape, and industrial hoses and tubing, while the Rezilube range sees use outside the plastics industry by formulators of biodegradable lubricant base stocks.
