Chemicals company Perstorp (Malmö, Sweden) has secured a permanent storage tank for its Emoltene 100 (DPHP) plasticizer in the United States, which is expected to be operational from the beginning of 2016. The bulk tank located in New Jersey will result in shorter lead and delivery times to customers in the region.

A provider of plasticizers for more than 40 years, Perstorp says that the North American plasticizer market is a high-priority area for the company and that sales have been expanding rapidly over the past two years in this region.

Emoltene is widely used in the automotive, wire and cable, and outdoor applications such as roofing membranes and tarpaulins, where it contributes to durability under harsh conditions.

In other Perstorp news, the company introduced this month the world's first Capa for Bioplastics. It made the announcement at the European Bioplastics Conference in Berlin. Karen Laird reported from the event.
