Velox offers PEEK at upcoming K 2016 presentations

VELOX GmbH (Hamburg, Germany), a leading European distributor of specialty materials for the plastics industry, is launching its own new family of PEEK compounds under the brand name Vemab PEEK this year at K 2016, in hall 6, booth A23. The product range, which the distributor developed in cooperation with its development laboratory, includes various glass and carbon fiber reinforced plastics, tribologically optimized formulas and customer-specific solutions for extrusion and injection molding applications. The company will also be presenting unmodified PEEK in three different viscosities in granulate and powder form for compounding, extrusion, compression and injection molding.

“We are looking forward to presenting our new products to our current and potential customers and discuss future projects,” said Velox Managing Director François Minec.

Aside from the new range of PEEK compounds, Velox will also be showcasing the latest developments from numerous partner companies, among which Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Polyram Plastic Industries, ADVANC3D Materials GmbH Ltd and Samyang Engineering Plastics.

Innovations to be introduced from Lubrizol, a respected leader in the area of TPU technology, include thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) solutions, specifically designed to improve the performance of high-end eyewear frames. The new Estane VSN 9000 material boasts properties such as self-healing capabilities, excellent dimension stability and chemical resistance, and therefore offers an excellent alternative to PA 12 for eyewear frames and other applications. Samyang Engineering Plastics’ Triel material, a thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPE-E), which Velox distributes throughout Europe and Turkey on behalf of the Korean materials producer, will also be on display, as will Polyram Plastic Industries’ new Bondyram tie layer grades TL4530 and TL4401. These grades are used in multilayer coextrusion structures to bond copolyester (PET / PETG) or polystyrene (PS) to materials such as EVOH, PA and PE resins.

Velox partner ADVANC3D Materials GmbH, a specialist in the development, production, sales and distribution of 3D printing materials, will be presenting its current 3D printing materials. In particular, filaments made from different polymers distributed by Velox will be showcased, complete with a live demonstration of 3D printing at the Velox booth during the show.

Other exhibits include a comprehensive spectrum of specialty plastics for technical, packaging and medical applications, purging compounds, a wide range of additives, functional fillers and flame retardants.

As Minec said: “Velox is proud of being accompanied by many of its highly valued partners who share their expertise at our 240 m2 booth during the most important show in the European plastics industry.”
