MTD Micro Molding recently celebrated the grand opening of its expanded medical micro-molding facility in Charlton, MA, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Guests included industry partners and community leaders, who had the opportunity to tour the new space in person.

While the exterior of the expansion was completed last fall, effectively doubling the manufacturing space, as we reported in September 2020, it took a little longer to finish the interior and make sure everything was optimally placed, said the company in a press release issued today. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on May 27.

“When laying out the new space, we did it strategically to ensure project flow and tracking, improving timing and efficiency,” explained MTD’s John Clark, who oversaw completion of the expansion. As a single-source manufacturer for precision micro medical components, this is critical for helping customers achieve faster speed to market, said the company.

MTD said that it continues to grow at a rapid pace, and is actively hiring new employees and purchasing more state-of-the-art equipment.

During the ceremony, MTD Executive Vice President Gary Hulecki unveiled a cornerstone plaque honoring Dennis Tully, MTD’s late president who masterminded the expansion before his unexpected passing in 2019.

Founded in 1972, MTD Micro Molding provides custom injection molding services to medical device OEMs. Tooling is produced in house, and quality systems are certified to ISO 13485. The company says that its exclusive focus on bio-absorbable and drug-delivery medical micro molding ensures successful delivery of complex custom products.
