A supplier of single-use components to global medical device OEMs, Qosina has added five biopharmaceutical-grade tubing products from the DuPont Liveo Healthcare Solutions portfolio to its tubing line.

The high-purity tubing is available in platinum-cured silicone and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) formulations and is designed for ultra-pure fluid transfer applications in pharmaceutical and biotechnological manufacturing processes. 

In line with its other molded and extruded products, Qosina said it will market DuPont Liveo tubing to customers in quantities ranging from R&D applications to full-scale production. 

The five tubing products are available in a range of dimensions totaling more than 30 options.

Platinum-cured Liveo Pharma-50, Pharma-65, and Pharma-80 silicone tubing is designed for the transfer of ultra-pure liquids, air, or steam in pharmaceutical and bioprocess applications. The tubing offers flexibility and a low extractables profile. It is easily sterilized and stable over a wide temperature range. Liveo Pharma-65 features enhanced pressure and kink resistance compared with Pharma-50, while Pharma-80 offers the highest kink resistance and is described as a cost-effective alternative to reinforced tubing for moderate- to high-pressure applications.

Translucent platinum-cured Liveo Pharma Advanced Pump silicone tubing is designed for pumping ultra-pure liquids in pharmaceutical and bioprocess applications. In addition to outstanding filling accuracy, according to Qosina, the tubing offers up to four times the pump life of standard platinum-cured silicone tubing

Liveo Pharma TPE tubing tubing is sterilizable, weldable, and designed for the transfer of fluid in pharmaceutical and bioprocess applications. The thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) tubing offers a low extractables profile, minimal spallation after 24 hours of pumping, and has good chemical resistance and improved heat welding, both to itself and competitive tubing.
