Medtech packaging specialist Technipaq has acquired two new header bag machines at its Crystal Lake, IL, facility. To make room for the 48-in.-wide web pouch machines, the company expanded its manufacturing cell by more than 3,600 square feet.

Technipaq is a pioneer in the manufacturing and development of header bags, and still owns and continues to operate one of the first machines developed for manufacturing medical header bags for sterile use. As an authorized converter of DuPont Tyvek for medical device packaging, Technipaq produces custom laminations of all designs and run sizes, reportedly serving more than 90% of medical device OEMs in North America.

The acquisition of the two new machines strengthens Technipaq’s ability to produce header bags for healthcare systems and customers across North America. The company now has the capability to produce twice as many header bags as before.
