New CEO for Engel North America

Injection molding machinery manufacturer Engel (Schwertberg, Austria) has named a new CEO for its North American business, with manufacturing in York, PA and Guelph, ON. Beginning in June Stephan G. (Steve) Braig will fill the position long held by Walter Jungwirth.

Braig comes to Engel after serving as CEO/president of Automated Assemblies Corp., near Boston. Jungwirth is returning to Austria and is taking on a new role as vice president for Engel’s packaging business unit. Engel remains keen to increase its presence in the packaging sphere (see last week’s e-Weekly for more).

Engel’s York facility manufactures large machines, while Guelph handles small- and medium-sized, fast-cycling Speed and fully electric E-Motion machines. Engel also announced it will invest some $4 million in the next three years in modernization of the Guelph plant.—[email protected]
