Noncontact process control sensors

Engineered to automatically control your process without coming into contact with molded parts, new Prisolaris cavity temperature sensors from Priamus System Technologies LLC (Brunswick, OH) are recess mounted. Therefore, no sensor mark is produced on parts where they can’t be tolerated, like optical parts.

Unlike more conventional cavity-pressure sensors, the melt front position at switchover reportedly is always known when using a Prisolaris sensor, since it detects the melt front without contacting the part. These easy-to-use sensors help to avoid flash, they experience zero abrasion, and no upfront machining is necessary. What’s more, there’s no leakage.
