), formally separating CSI LLC from Cosmolab, with the latter continuing to operate out of its Tennessee location. William J. Gedwed, Asparron's CEO said the transaction, which was finalized on Oct. 22, 2009, is the first step in moving CSI into the forefront of product development in areas including sustainable packaging along with tool design and development from an already robust in-house machine department.

Established in 1978, CSI offers double-wall jars in polypropylene, polystyrene, or SAN, with single-wall jars in polypropylene, and thick-wall, round-base jars in PETG.

Asparron was founded in 2007 as a private investment firm with direct private-equity investments in companies with capitalizations up to $25 million. The firm focuses on businesses in the healthcare, consumer products, and light manufacturing, with an emphasis on low capital-intensive industries.

CSI supplies the cosmetics, skincare, and personal care industries with design, tooling, and molding of jars, caps, and closures made from petrochemical- and bio-based plastics, fabricating more than 200 million parts/yr. Secondary operations include silk screening, pad printing, hot stamping, label application, and cap lining. —[email protected]
