E-shots Web-exclusive: Rexam buys O-I’s packaging business

Glassmaking giant Owens-Illinois (Perrysburg, OH; www.o-i.com) announced that it completed the sale of its plastics packaging business (O-I Plastics) to Rexam Plc (London, UK; www.rexam.com) on Aug. 1. The sale transfers O-I Plastics' 2800 employees and 19 plants in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Hungary, Singapore, and Malaysia, as well as a headquarters and technical development center in Ohio. Rexam paid approximately $1.825 billion in cash for the business.
