Packaging days at Engel, Austria

St. Valentin, Austria — During its three-day (April 17-19) “Packaging Days” event, held at its large injection molding machine manufacturing plant in St. Valentin, Austria, Engel welcomed more than 350 visitors from 24 countries. Among other exhibits, the attendees saw molding of stackable boxes on a compact, large-scale, dual-platen machine (DUO 4550/700), running a mold from Austrian moldmaker Haidlmair GmbH. An E-Motion 740/180T press with full electric drive technology molded cup on a mold from Fratelli Bianchi. Engel’s macPET (320/130/96) with a 4-station take-off unit for optimum cooling of the preform was fitted with a 96-fold mold from MHT for processing 18g preforms.

One highlight was what Engel claims is the fastest inmold labeling system on the market—demonstrated on a Speed 180/55 equipped with a toggle lever to reduce dry running times, and a fully-automatic closed-loop cooling-water control system for optimum mold temperature control.—[email protected]
