The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) has named eight finalists for its 2008 Polyurethane Innovation Awards, which cover three categories: Polyurethane Chemicals, Processing Equipment, and Finished Products. Ashland Performance Materials was selected for its two-component laminating adhesive composition that allows processable bond strengths in less than 24 hours versus the industry standard 7 to 14 days.

The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) has named eight finalists for its 2008 Polyurethane Innovation Awards, which cover three categories: Polyurethane Chemicals, Processing Equipment, and Finished Products. Ashland Performance Materials was selected for its two-component laminating adhesive composition that allows processable bond strengths in less than 24 hours versus the industry standard 7 to 14 days. BASF was chosen for its Balance bio-polyols, a non-food based natural alternative for the 100% replacement of conventional polyols in flexible foam. The third finalist is Merquinsa for its Pearlthane ECO thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which use biobased polyols to create TPUs with renewable content ranging from 30-90% by weight.
