battenfeld-cincinnati expands its spare parts service

Global extrusion systems manufacturer battenfeld-cincinnati, with dual headquarters in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany and Vienna, Austria, has now extended its customer support by expanding its spare parts storage facilities, especially for downstream equipment. As a result, says the company, these parts are now available to customers much faster than before.

NF_1018_BatCin-spare-parts.gif Under a project covering the whole group of companies and including all relevant corporate facilities, the procurement, supply and stockage process for electronic and mechanical components, consumables and expendable parts in downstream equipment has been completely revised and optimized.

No processor wants machine downtime, and it can be all the worse when an older machine goes down as spare parts can be tough to find. That was the thinking at the extruder manufacturer with the improvements to its spare parts system. battenfeld-cincinnati is significantly extending its stocks of spare parts for older downstream aggregates at its Kempen, Germany facility. The first items readily available are electronic parts, such as operation and control system packages, impulse generators, amplifiers, frequency converters and motors, as well as upgrades for electric drive units.

Ina second step the machine manufacturer plans to further extend its inventory by adding mechanical parts such as drive units, valves, floating switches, consumables and expendable parts (e.g. saw blades, cutters, circular knives and roller chains).

Peter Hammer, managing director of service at battenfeld-cincinnati, commented, “It is important to us to provide optimal support for our customers over the entire product life cycle. This also includes fast, smooth-running spare parts service for downstream equipment, which we can now ensure on a long-term basis by means of this project.“

From now on, many spare part components will be available from stock at battenfeld-cincinnati. These include, for example, a frequency converter upgrading kit.
