Bunting buys British magnet supplier

The European arm of precision magnetic products supplier Bunting Magnetics Co. (Newton, KS) has acquired E-Magnets UK Limited of Sheffield, England. A Bunting spokesperson told PlasticsToday that this acquisition is the company's second overseas purchase. In August 2008, the company acquired Magnet Applications Group Limited, part of the MAG Ltd. business, which is based in Berkhamsted, England. It was that unit, Bunting Magnetics Europe Limited, which formally made the E-Magnets acquisition.

Bunting buys British magnet supplier

Founded in 2005 by Alistair Richardson, E-Magnets UK specializes in direct and wholesale supply of magnetic products throughout the U.K. and globally through its website e-magnetsuk.com. The Bunting spokesperson said that E-Magnets has a stronger web presence then the company's current e-commerce arm in the U.K. and that it will help Bunting "secure a stronger market share in the U.K. and Europe."

Richardson will continue to lead the operation, which will maintain its brand and web site URL, and Bunting will also keep on E-Magnets' four other staff. The spokesperson noted that 2012 has been a particularly strong year for Bunting, which has enjoyed double-digit growth. Bunting has manufacturing facilities in Newton, KS; Elk Grove Village, IL; DuBois, PA and Berkhamsted, England.
