Don’t let the big dog off the porch
A faux dog created an uproar in a small German town after a passerby saw it and called the police to report she saw a neglected animal, "totally listless", bound with a rope and sitting on the porch of a home. Police answered the call and agreed that if ever there was a listless dog, this one, molded from plastic and with glass eyes, was it.

The dog's owner told the German newspaper this isn't the first time people have assumed his dog was real; he helps foster the illusion with a "Beware of dog" sign leading into his yard. The article is in German but there is a photo of the owner with his mutt so you can judge whether you would have been fooled too.
