Easy opening of the Weckmann granulator is thanks to hydraulics.

Weckenmann Anlagentechnik has developed its first plastics granulator with hydraulic opening of the housing, which the company says aids in fast cleaning and maintenance. The hydraulics open the granulator within 40-60 seconds at two levels without the need of additional tools. This permits optimum access for cleaning or replacement of blades and screens. The heavy welded steel unit is made up of three housing components—the upper housing that consists of a double-walled feed housing with special silencing, the middle section with rotor holder, and a lower housing with a removable screen and suction trough. Safety flaps located under additional covers provide protection against rebounding material at the feed housing. Cutting technology is a twin shear blade system of five rotors and three bed blades for crushing. In the center, the rotor has split and preset blades. It is equipped with centrifugal masses on both sides to produce high cutting torque. Depending on material, the granulator has throughputs of up to 1200 kg/hr. Cutting widths are 600 and 1000 mm.
