Syscon-PlantStar?s new portable touch-screen data collection module works like a standard PlantStar data collection module for a production monitoring system but can be moved around from machine to machine. It simply connects to a molding machine through a serial port, providing remote entry and access to all the functions of the standard data collection module. Some of these standard functions include production information, process data, setup sheets, profiles, and charts. This hardware is an optional feature for any of the Panorama, Portrait, and Focus 2000 and 100 systems from PlantStar. With the new module, machine technicians have a diagnostic tool within an arm?s length when setting up or troubleshooting a machine. List price is $3300.
