New execs in place at Battenfeld Extrusion, Coperion

The industry’s largest manufacturer of profile and pipe extrusion machinery, and the largest manufacturer of compound extrusion lines, both have announced changes in their senior leadership.

At BC Extrusion Holding, the holding company which manages Battenfeld Extrusion Technology (BEX; Bad Oeynhausen, Germany) and Cincinnati Extrusion (Vienna, Austria) and their affiliated manufacturing operations in the U.S. and China, Wolfgang Studener has left the firm after more than 30 years of service in various management positions at BEX, and the last year as chairman of the board of the holding company. He was replaced as of July 1 by Jürgen Arnold, who joins the group after serving as CEO at pump manufacturer Sterling SIHI for six years. He also spent some 20 years of his career in the plastics industry, first at Bayer at the beginning of his career as an applications engineer for thermoplastic polyester. He subsequently held several management and sales positions at GE Plastics, spending almost 15 years at that supplier, and at the end of that term, from 1991-1996, he was managing director of GE Plastics Germany.

Jürgen Arnold, the new boss at BC Extrusion HoldingAlso in Germany but further south in Stuttgart, officials at compound extruder manufacturer Coperion say that Wolfgang Pöschl, a member of the company’s executive board and head of its Competence Center Compounding & Extrusion, has left the company. His duties are being divided between two remaining board members. Axel Kiefer, in addition to his existing responsibilities as director of the Competence Center Materials Handling, will also be in charge of Coperion’s business with large compounding systems for the polyolefin supply industry, and Thomas Kehl will continue to be responsible for the Competence Center Service, but will also take on management of business with small-to-medium size compounding and extrusion machines for the plastics, food, and pharmaceutical industries as well as for special applications. —[email protected]
