The deal involved the Indian maker of plastic and rubber testing equipment with the German size-reduction specialist, with the joint-venture company to focus on the latter. The new firm has a registered office in Gujarat, India, with Pallmann's Herbert Trier listed as the point of contact. In a press release, the companies said the jointly introduced new venture will serve as a production and marketing base in India for the production of pulverizers and other size-reduction equipment destined for the Indian market and surrounding countries.

Founded in 1997 with a manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Deepak Poly Plast develops and manufactures testing machines and systems according to customer requirements or to ISO, ASTM, DIN, IS, or BS standards for plastic and rubber product testing.

Pallmann, which was founded in 1903, started out as a flour milling and mill designing company. Today it operates manufacturing facilities, subsidiary companies, custom grinding plants, and sales offices in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. The company's pulverizing technology sees broad use in the preparation of plastics for rotational or rotomolding, which is a booming sector in India. —[email protected]
