CRS cold runner systems for liquid silicone rubber (LSR) have rapid clamping elements for short set-up times. Molding parts with reduced sprues is achieved by precisely defined thermal separation between the cooled runner system and heated contour unit. A needle-valve controlled feed system reduces injection point marking. Closing the fee orifice with the needle valve system prevents cross-linking of the LSR in the sprue bush when the unit contour is at high temperature.

The high temperatures of the contour unit yield shorter cycle times and variable vulcanization times for standard molded products, particularly for relatively large products. There is a minimum mechanical load on the liquid silicone rubber thanks to the large cross sectional areas of the feed zones.
