Stratasys signs exclusive reseller agreement for Midwest

“The FDM machines give us the opportunity to tap new markets in both traditional prototyping and direct digital manufacturing,” says Charles Hess, Fisher/Unitech’s president. “DDM eliminates tooling, injection molding, and diecasting from the manufacturing process. This will enable discrete manufacturers to move directly from design to manufacturing, reducing time-to-market and lowering capital expenditures to free up cash flow for additional projects.”

Fisher/Unitech also announced recently that it would sell the uPrint personal 3D printer from Dimension 3D Printing Group, a business unit of Stratasys Inc. The uPrint is a desktop-sized printer (24-by-26-inch footprint) with an 8-by-6-by-6-inch build envelope that uses ABSplus (a Stratasys material) for creating rapid prototypes. Its price ($14,900) and size are intended for designers and engineers for whom larger, more expensive systems are prohibitive.[email protected]
