It is anticipated that over 70,000 local and overseas trade visitors from over 100 countries will visit Chinaplas 2009.

“Despite the present economic situation, Chinaplas 2009 still enjoys 37% growth (compared with the 2007 Guangzhou show), reaching an exhibition area of 140,000 square meters,” says Ada Leung, project pirector at show organizer Adsale Exhibition Services (Hong Long). Despite tough times, Adsale says that it has doubled the resources that have been invested in visitor promotion in order to ensure that both exhibitors and buyers can make use of Chinaplas as an effective sourcing platform to seek business opportunities. This even extends to commercials airing during prime time on leading television channels.

Among the more than 1900 exhibitors that will participate at Chinaplas 2009 are industry heavyweights such as BASF, ExxonMobil Chemical, Lanxess, Sumitomo Chemical, SABIC, the Chen Hsong Group, Krauss Maffei, Mold-Masters, Engel, and Coperion. In addition, 10 national pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, China, Taiwan Province, the U.K., and the U.S. will showcase their technologies and products at Chinaplas 2009. Furthermore, a Plastics Building Materials Pavilion will be in place to highlight the role that plastics can play in the post- earthquake Sichuan Reconstruction Project.
