Synventive adds new manufacturing site in China, will double capacity

Its new facility is located nearby the existing site at Unit 20, Gang Tian Industrial Square, Suzhou Industry Park. This March, the company will transition its hot runner nozzle, tip, and small-manifold manufacturing work cells to the new facility. The company will also use greater space at the new site to expand its R&D by adding a new, larger test lab and offices. Injection molding machines will be among the state-of-the-art equipment featured in the test lab.

In addition to the two manufacturing facilities in Suzhou, Synventive has direct China sales offices in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Ningbo. Elsewhere in Asia it has locations in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and India.

In June 2009, Synventive announced a shift in its manufacturing, moving engineering and manufacturing resources from North America to its operations in Germany and China. On the personnel side, John Jofre was named president-Synventive Asia. Jofre spent most of the last 16 years in the injection molding industry in Asia, coming to Synventive from Splice UK, where he was VP engineering for the fiber optic company in the Philippines. —[email protected]
