Resin distributor offers cyber collaboration

While e-commerce firms continue to struggle, one bright spot on the Web continues to shine. Online design collaboration tools are growing in popularity, as evidenced by a recent announcement from resin distributor and compounder Entec Polymers (Maitland, FL). Entec has partnered with Aptec (Ormond Beach, FL), a product design and development firm specializing in plastics, to offer customers the ability to collaborate online using CoCreate?s OneSpace (November 2000 IMM, pp. 44-47).

The two companies have already worked with several OEMs by using the virtual collaboration tool to develop products, select materials, and design for moldability. Next month, IMM will feature the details of one such project, focusing on the time savings and design optimization made possible by this new partnership.
