Resin weighing at loader stage

A new control system called Weigh Inventory Transfer (WITS) offers processors accurate weighing of plastic materials at the loader stage. Each weigh loader, which can handle one or two materials, is fitted with dual load cells to ensure accurate weighing, cycle after cycle. The WITS 99 Master Control is a microprocessor that communicates to each loader via RS485 twisted pair wiring. All data can be downloaded and uploaded from each loader to the master control. In addition, two-way communication with automatic update of data to each control is featured.

The control system has the ability to communicate and control both weigh loaders and nonweigh loaders, two vacuum pumps, and up to 99 stations, all independent of each other. All data entry is menu driven through a touch screen, which displays running conditions and material inventory by station. Other features include job identification by part number, priority station loading, nonfill alarm (visual and audible), password protection, and a communication failure alarm. Material conveyed to each weigh loader is stored in memory and can be viewed at the master control or the control panel of the individual loader.
