A liquid silicon rubber containing fluoro-methyl-copolymers is for vehicle applications where good chemical resistance is essential. Silopren LSR FSL 7586/40 resists nonpolar fuels and oils. Increase in volume swell is less than 20% when in contact with diesel fuel at elevated temperature compared to 80% with silicon rubbers based on methyl-polysiloxanes. It is self lubricating. A low compression set can be achieved without post-curing. GE Bayer Silicones GmbH, Building V7, D-51368 Leverkusen, Germany www.gebayersilicones.com
