Names in the News: SPE Thermoforming board of directors; PVC compounder Doeflex-Vitapol
The Thermoforming division of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) has elected its new board of directors. The new chairman of the board is Ken Griep, VP of Portage, WI-based Portage Casting and Mold Inc., a leading manufacturer of thermoforming tools. His two-year term officially begins in May, when he succeeds Brian Ray, president of industrial parts thermoformer Ray Products Inc. (Ontario, CA).

Appointed to one-year terms on the board of directors were Juliette Goff from Kal Plasticsan, and Roger Jean from Premier Material Concepts (PMC). Existing board members who received new three-year terms include Roger Fox of Foxmor Group Inc.; Hal Gilham, Productive Plastics Inc.; Donald Hylton, McConnell Co. Inc.; Don Kruschke, Thermoforming Machinery and Equipment Inc.; Laura Pichon, Ex-Tech Plastics Inc., Walt Speck, Speck Plastics Inc.; Jay Waddell, Plastic Concepts & Innovations LLC; and Brian Winton, Modern Machinery of Beaverton Inc.
PVC compounder Doeflex-Vitapol appointed Rick Hale as area sales manager. Hale brings with him 25 years of experience with positions at Polycol/Atochem before joining Chemex, where he worked in various technical and commercial roles.
In his new role, he will be advising customers on material selection, processing optimisation and the development of bespoke PVC compounds to meet application requirements. Particular focus will be on the companies growing range of antimicrobial and antifungal PVC materials, according to the compounder. —[email protected]
