Traverse robots offer fast speeds

Designed to fit molding machines ranging from 50 to 6000 tons, the new SA Series robots are capable of carrying payloads of 1 lb to more than 130 lb. These traverse robots offer fast speeds and reduced time in and around the mold area thanks to 3-D brushless servodriven axes that are capable of multiple axis motion. Overall cycle times range from 5 seconds and up, with takeout times of less than 2 seconds. The robots feature heavy-duty linear bearings on all axes and are built with high-strength, modular-beam construction.

Programming setup and operation is simplified by programmable handheld teach pendants with a large display and full text messages. A standard PC-based link with software allows offline programming and unlimited storage of sequences. Palletization and other secondary operations can also be programmed offline at the PC or in real time at the press. Pricing information on the SA series was not provided.
