Wittmann Battenfeld to feature six operating injection molding machine workcells

Visitors to the last NPE in 2012 remember Wittmann Battenfeld’s robots playing basketball – it generated quite the crowd. Well, the company promises that there will be an entirely new and novel demonstration in store for NPE2015. Beyond that, here's what to expect:

Wittmann Battenfeld will feature six injection molding machine work cells with integrated robots, automation, material handling and auxiliary equipment. In addition, the company will display extrusion-related machinery and auxiliaries in its booth.

The six molding machine work cells on display include:

-New SmartPower machine molding a jeweler’s loop (magnifying glass) for viewing miniature parts being molded on MicroPower machine at Burteck booth (booth #S35013)

-Two-shot EcoPower machine molding 2-component (glass-filled PA and HDPE) automotive fuel flange

-MicroPower micromolding machine producing liquid silicone rubber (LSR) 2-component tear duct plug

-MacroPower 650/8800 machine molding single cavity PP box

-Variotherm and Cellmould molding being demonstrated on an EcoPower 240 machine, molding an ABS automotive bezel

-EcoPower 240/1330 machine with In-mold Labeling (IML) station, molding and labeling stadium cups

Robots

All of the molding machine work cells will feature integrated Wittmann robots. Several new PRO Series robots will be on display and operating in the booth, including the W832 and W843. The new PRO series provides even more stiffness of the axis, an ambiLED indicator lamp for simple display of the robot’s operating mode, the latest R8.3 Control System and Software and the new high performance / high efficiency proDrive.

The new pneumatic sprue picker with ‘Net 8’ control system will also be on display, as will the new R8.3 robot operating system, with demonstrations of features including QuickNew easy teach program creation, and EcoVacuum, which provides for low energy usage.

Material handling systems & auxiliaries

A complete range of Wittmann Battenfeld material handling systems and auxiliary equipment will be operating in the booth. Featured products include:

-Aton Plus segmented wheel dryers, featuring a new intuitive touch display and built-in energy savings features including the 3-save process and EcoMode.

-FC Plus for DRYMAX battery dryers, a new option for extending the functionality of a frequency-controlled battery dryer. FC Plus allows adjustment of dry air volume and contributes significantly to additional energy savings.

-New TEMPRO temperature controllers with direct cooling, featuring a more compact design and enhanced heating and cooling capacities.

Extrusion machinery and auxiliaries

Wittmann Extrusion will display numerous machinery and equipment solutions at NPE2015, including:

-large throughput blenders (6K lbs./hr)

-gravimetric yield control

-puller/cutter system
