Plastic Technologies Inc. announces new training program

This latest program, which is being taught under the PTI’s FastTrack training brand, will feature two modules – Conformal Cooling for Injection Molding (Sept. 4) and Medical Plastics Design and Processing (Sept. 5). PTI has more than three decades of experience in creating client and industry-driven training programs that have enhanced the knowledge of thousands of plastics industry professionals.

“At PTI, we continuously strive to develop best-of-class training programs taught by the industry’s leading professionals,” said Ron Puvak, director of business development and marketing at PTI. “We also pride ourselves in developing ‘first-ever’ courses such as the Conformal Cooling for Injection Molding class being offered this fall.”

Teaching the Conformal Cooling for Injection Molding course is Robert Beard, president of Robert A. Beard & Associates Inc., which offers product design and development consulting services. Beard is a licensed professional engineer with more than 40 years of plastics industry experience. He has taught thermodynamics, plastics, kinematics, engineering drawing, and advanced machine design at the University of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania State University, and New York State University as adjunct instructor. Beard’s practical experience includes general manager for a custom injection molding company, 10 years in engineering management for Abbott Laboratories, and plastic co-extrusion R&D manager at National Can.

Len Czuba will be the instructor for the Medical Plastics Design and Processing course on Sept. 5. Czuba is president of Czuba Enterprises Inc., a product development firm which  helps clients go from concept to market. He has more than 30 years experience in polymer systhesis, compounding and material development for medical device applications. He had a multi-decade tenure at Baxter Healthcare Corp., where he was involved in device engineering, blood/IV container and product development. He holds 15 U.S. patents and has helped commercialize a variety of medical devices. In 2004, Czuba was named one of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry’s 100 Notable Persons.

Course fees are $895 for a single day and $1590 for both courses. Discounts are available for groups of three or more. Fees include materials, lunch and beverage breaks.

“In our experience, the most successful companies do not view training as an expense, but rather, as a valuable investment which pays dividends down the road,” said PTI’s Puvak.
