Southern Cal molders offered new training opportunities

One positive effect of the economic downturn has been a renewed emphasis in many areas on employee training. Southern California’s injection molding industry will benefit from a new training program run by a non-profit organization, California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC). California is ranked first nationally in the plastics industry in terms of the number employed (more than 76,000).

Southern Cal molders offered new training opportunities

The new program is possible through a partnership between CMTC and RJG Inc. As a result of the partnership, CMTC now offers hands-on customized on-site injection molding training based on RJG’s technical training programs and CMTC’s customized holistic training. Courses now offered include an overview of RJG’s eDART System; In-Cavity Sensors; Systematic Molding I; Successful Strategies for New Tool Launches; Master Molder Certification; Master Molder I; Master Molder II and Train the Trainer Certification.

Over the last 12 months CMTC has conducted workforce training programs for 93 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies based in Southern California, with the costs of these often offset by funds from the California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP). —[email protected]
