Matrix Design opens new automation systems facility

Matrix Design LLC announced the opening of an additional production facility next to the company’s current plant in South Elgin, IL. The 17,000-square-foot building will more than double the company’s capacity, enabling more robotic systems to be built and powered concurrently, said Matrix Design.

“Having this new space a few steps away from our main plant will enable our engineers, builders and applications team to remain closely knit as product flows through operations,” said Jacki Chiappe, Production Manager.

Jeff Bennett, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented, “As the demand for automation continues to grow at such a rapid pace, this new capacity gives us the ability to better serve our customers by reducing lead times for future projects. We are also looking forward to the new opportunities the additional space will allow.”

Matrix Design builds and installs robotic automation systems and services to factories worldwide. An authorized Fanuc robot integrator (ASI) and recently certified as an RIA (Robotics Industry Association) integrator, Matrix supplies standard and custom robotic material handling systems including machine tending (machine tool loading/unloading), part-tray exchange, inspection, palletizing and robotic deburring systems.
