Attendees at this year’s IME South show will get the welcome of a lifetime to the highest-profile industry in the host city of Charlotte, N.C., with a visit to the Nascar Hall of Fame on June 4.

IME South incorporates six different co-located shows: Design & Manufacturing South, ATX South, MD&M South, SouthPack, Plastic South, and Powder/Bulk Solids South.

That’s where guests will experience the Hall’s interactive activities like driving racing simulators and participating in a pit crew challenge against other guests.

The driving simulators are built into eight real race cars, where participants virtually race in a group video game against one another using iRacing software.

Guests do a practice round during qualifying before racing head-to-head against each other in the simulated race.

For the Pit Crew Challenge, guests form three-person pit crews to perform simulated pit stops. You could be the jack person, the gas filler, or the tire changer.

It is worth noting that the practice cars still incorporate the old five-lug nut arrangement that Nascar racers used for decades before the advent of the NextGen car and its single centerlock wheel nut last year. The stopwatch will indicate the fastest team.

The Nascar Hall of Fame welcome reception should be a fun way to kick off a productive show for attendees to all six of IME South’s different topic-specific shows, so sign up now to attend.
