Dr. Bryan Hauger of Bryan Hauger Consulting to join Testing Solutions team

Testing Solutions Inc. (TSI; Prospect, PA), a designer of pipe testing equipment, recently announced the addition of Dr. Bryan Hauger of Bryan Hauger Consulting Inc. to represent the company as Western Regional Sales Associate, working remotely from Longmont, CO.  Within his role, Hauger will handle all sales activities, from lead generation to close, in a territory that includes 18 states in addition to British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Hauger joins Testing Solutions with many years of experience in plastic testing, with a strong market focus on plastic piping. Prior to forming his consultancy, Hauger was Technical Director at Microbac Laboratories, Hauser Division, in Colorado, directing and coordinating the testing of plastic materials including piping system components. “I believe that there is excellent overlap between the plastics manufacturers that our firm serves with the potential clients for Testing Solutions products,” said Hauger. “This role with Testing Solutions is a natural fit.”

In an interview, Fred Hensel, owner of Testing Solutions, told PlasticsToday that the company is seeing an increased demand in equipment built for new pipe designs, such as fiber-reinforced plastic pipes used in high-pressure applications. “One of the systems we designed and built was rated at 8,000 psi in order to fully test this new-style pipe,” said Hensel. “Typically, 1,000 to 2,000 psi is adequate, but we have built systems for 500, 1,500, 3,000, 8,000, 10,000 and 30,000 psi. Some of our machines have been built for customers wishing to test composite metal/plastic pipe and fittings. Along with the equipment, we have designed and built endcaps for all sizes of pipe and fittings.”

TSI has built equipment for pipe diameters up to 42 inches, and can test larger pipes, if needed. “Plastic is definitely the material I would recommend for transmitting water, as iron and copper are too easily corroded by water,” Hensel said.

Hensel, who is proud that his products are made in the U.S.A., explained: “As a manufacturer located in Pennsylvania, we have been interested in expanding our sales focus in the western United States and Canada for some time. We believe there is significant sales growth potential that will result in greater exposure for our products, which are well known in other markets for their high accuracy, reliability and durability.”

TSI’s products include equipment for a range of pipe testing including burst, compression, impact, notching, ring tensile and static testing, among others. The company is ASTM International and AWWA compliant.

Hensel noted that TSI’s engineers have 30 years of design and test experience. “TSI’s goal is to provide the lowest total cost of equipment ownership by using high quality components, and provide full support with upgrade, calibration and repair services to our customers,” he added.
