Polymer Technology & Services LLC introduces PTS Mexico

Guadalajara, Mexico, has long been a manufacturing hub for a number of U.S.-headquartered OEMs. Now it will be home to the Mexican operations of Polymer Technology & Services LLC (PTS; Murfreesboro, TN).

PTS Mexico aims to broaden the global efforts of the organization by reaching new customers via local representation. The additional location encapsulates the current strategy being implemented at PTS: Understanding customer needs, providing solutions to help gain market share and being the go-to leader in engineering resins in Mexico, said the company’s announcement.

PTS is a manufacturer of UL-listed thermoplastics, and is a supplier of name brand and highly engineered resins. The company says it offers “the broadest range of world class plastics, combined with all the benefits of an efficient business model, for distribution and technical service.”

Gerardo Lopez Kurl, Country Manager of PTS Mexico, said, “The new Mexico location supports the PTS business model of expert product knowledge while being an integral part of a growing country.”

“Mexico’s economy has excelled relative to other Latin American economies in recent years largely due to flourishing manufacturing sectors supporting markets such as electronics manufacturing, aerospace, and the automobile industry,” said Eddie Oropeza, VP of Sales and Business Development. “Moving from traditional bases such as South Korea or China to Mexico, and the inclusion of Mexico in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, will increase the country’s participation in global supply chains.”

With the recent influx of many international and Mexican owned and operated companies, Mexico has become a prime candidate for the expansion of engineering resins. Plastics professionals in Mexico contribute to the national expertise not only in straightforward assembly carried out by the maquiladoras (twin plants), but also sophisticated manufacturing operations, resulting in a growing number of technological and engineering centers where PTS’s capabilities in application development and customized products will fill a tremendous unmet need, the company noted.
