Medical Equipment Gets a Lift

A new hydraulic lift from Meese Orbitron Dunne Co. (MOD) features a design that replaces multiple, heavy, riveted, utilitarian steel and aluminum components and fasteners with a one-piece, seamless, plastic unit and molded-in inserts. Rotationally molded of polyethylene for durability and wear resistance, the 2-by-3-foot MOD lift tray securely accommodates 500-lb loads while weighing only 14 lb. MOD creates a stable, secure platform that gently cradles MRI machines, heat monitors, lab apparatus and other heavy, sensitive medical equipment during installation. MOD features the required rigidity and stiffness during the standard molding cycle, eliminating the conventional secondary injection of urethane and its environmental hazards while improving strength under force and cutting production costs.
